Proposal for GSOC and edit on wiki

Hi Sindhu,

It's a matter of waiting for one of the Gramps developers to respond to you (You can tell as their email addresses end in @gramps-project.org )

Kind regards

Sam888 (talk) 21:45, 30 January 2017 (MST)

Volunteer bug triager, etc...

PS:A quick look at the mailing list for past request of GSOC show that it has not been successfully accepted by Google

Also Google requires and have at least two contributors to serve as organization administrators and/or mentors for the entire program in order to participate in the program. which may be very difficult as I believe out of the four with @gramps-project.org's email accounts only one is active.

Sorry, it's possible I've misinterpreted Googles rules to mean two from the project who have email addresses from that domain.

Thank you, Sam! I wasn't aware that Gramps had applied even before 2011 (I searched on the mailing list for [1]). [cs.brynmawr.edu/~dblank/ Doug] has previously said he would be interested in mentoring in any project related to gramps and currently is interested in mentoring for GPrime but that doesn't come under Gramps-project umbrella does it?
Tim Lyons expressed interest in wishlist ideas for Gramps but we don't know if he is wiling to mentor just yet.
Ah I wasn't aware about Gramps devels having emails at the domain. I will keep an eye out, thanks again!

Anyway, don't be discouraged.
I see you mentions My interest in genealogy is recent but I hope to be thoroughly acquainted with its internals here onwards by contributing to Gramps.
So welcome and I hope you enjoy researching your family history and look forward to your many future contributions to Gramps.

Note that I reversed your edit to the Portal:Enhancement_Proposal page and merged it into the existing GEPS_030:_New_Visualization_Techniques page note that GEPS stands for Gramps Enhancement Proposals see: Category:GEPS for existing GEPS.
