{{stub}}Soundex Match of people with a specified name. First name, Surname, Call name, and Nickname are searched in primary and alternate names. This rule compares names of People against a phonetic pattern. It uses the [[Gramps_5.1_Wiki_Manual_-_Gramplets#Soundex_what_is_this.3F|Soundex]] phonetic algorithm for indexing names by sound, as pronounced in English. Match criteria can be a Soundex code (which can be found with the Soundex Gramplet) consisting of of a letter followed by three numerical digits: the letter is the first letter of the name, and the digits encode the remaining consonants. But if the match criteria is not a valid Soundex code, the filter will simply generate Soundex code for the word entered. All name fields (and the separate words within those fields) are searched individually against the Soundex code.
