Allows you to use Genealogical symbols Symbols instead of text abbreviations in reports, charts and the Gramps interface.

This can be useful if you want to add phonetic in a note to show how to pronounce a name or if you mix multiple languages like Greek and Russian.
You can only configure the death symbol from this tab.
If the [https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/fontconfig / fontconfig] [[Gramps_5.1_Wiki_Manual_-_Settings#Prerequisite|prerequisite has been installed]], then on the {{man labelMan menu|Edit ➡ Preferences ➡ Genealogical Symbols}} tab select the {{man button|Try to find}} button, Gramps will attempt to detect any suitable unicode text fonts that include gylphs for all the required symbols.
