→How do I add a spouse to a person?
Your screen should look something like the screenshot.

Click on the {{man button|[[File:Gramps-spouse.png|33px]] Partner {{man tooltip|Add a new family with person as parent}}}} button (Shown with tooltip displayed above). This will bring up the Edit Family form Editor dialog with ''John Smith'' listed as the ''Father/Partner1 '' in the family. Had the active person been a female, the person would have been listed as the ''Mother/partner2 '' in the family. The Edit Family form Editor dialog is shown in the screenshot.

Once the Edit Family form Editor dialog is displayed, you can add the partner by clicking one of the two buttons next to the ''Mother/partner2''. The first button will allow you to select a person who is already in the Family tree, and the second button will allow you to add create a new person who is not already in the Family tree.
