For easy working with animals in Gramps, it helps if some terminology is changed. That is Example differences:
* Person -> Animal
* Father -> Sire
* Mother -> Dam
* Marriage -> Pairing
* Children -> Offspring/Progeny* Daughter -> Ewe lamb* Son -> Ram lamb* Family -> Family group....
The files [[File:Gramps_animal_2_2_6.po.gz]] (for Gramps v2.2.6) and [[File:Gramps_animal_3_1_3.po.gz]] (for Gramps v3.1.3) are English sub-translations that makes using Gramps far more intuitive when dealing with animals.
