You can also add a partner to a person from the Family List View. Select the Family List View, and click on the {{man button|[[Gramps_{{man version}}_Wiki_Manual_-_Navigation#Add|Add]]}} button in the toolbar and select the {{man label|Family}} option. This will bring up a new {{man label|[[Gramps_{{man version}}_Wiki_Manual_-_Entering_and_editing_data:_detailed_-_part_1#Family_Editor_dialog|Family Editor dialog]]}} with no people selected. In this case you must add both the father/Partner1 (''John Smith'') and the Mother/partner2.
