I've upgraded to the new version of Gramps but when I try to load my database (which I backed up under version 3.4.6-1), it tells me I can't load it because it's still in the old format. So I tried opening it in the old version and it tells me I can't load it because it's in the new format!!
When I try to open it in the new format, the error message I get is: (-30973, 'BDB0087 DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery -- BDB1544 process-private: unable to find environment')
Gramps doesn't recognise my pictures (gallery)
I upgraded Gramps to version 4.2 on my new laptop (running Windows 8.1) and imported the database from my old Win7 netbook. This went smoothly and was successful. However, when I want to add a new picture during edit / gallery, Gramps doesn't recognise the pictures in my folder of family history pictures. It finds the folder but says there is no media in the folder. It's actually full of pictures including the ones imported from the ".media" file but won't allow me to add any of the ones that aren't already in the galleries of people in the database. The ones already attached to individuals in my database are shown but new ones, not currently attached, are not found when "adding (+)" a new photo.
P.S. I changed the "Base path for relative media paths" and found all the pictures I couldn't get before. But now the pictures I had are no longer found! I can't win...
